I wonder why did you use "ecountrar" instead of "encontrar", "orta" instead of "outra" and "con" instead of "com"? :p Because for me it sounds like Spanish, not Portuguese.

it depends in which region you live in Portugal. I hail from a part in Portugal that is literally right next door to spain. so many words are similar however as for the pure Portuguese, I can understand it.

That's interesting! I've visited also Galicia this year and I found galego to be very similar to Portuguese. :)
